Masoumeh Simbar is a professor of Midwifery and Reproductive Health at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, the second-ranked university in Tehran Iran. She is the director of the Midwifery and Reproductive Health Research Center (MRHRC). She has more than 450 papers in the indexed Journals based on Google Scholar with an h index of 45, more than 200 papers based on Scopus with an h index of 27, and more than 150 papers based on Pubmed. Her Orcid ID is 0000-0003-2843-3150. Based on Scopus,  She is among the first 1 percent of scientists in the field of Reproductive health. She is also the first-ranked scientist among university professors in this field in Iran.

She was the first graduated person (from the University of Sydney) in Reproductive health in Iran. She started her research activities at the National Research Center for Reproductive Health (NRCRH) affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) in 1996 in Tehran. In 2001, She started her work in the Department of Midwifery and Reproductive Health of SBMU.

 She was a member of the team of curriculum planners for her Ph.D. in Reproductive Health as well as she was a member of the founder board of two research centers affiliated with SBMU; 1) Midwifery and Reproductive Health Research Center (MRHRC), 2) The Reproductive Endocrinology Research Center (RERC) in The Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences. Now she is the director of MRHRC. She is a member of the Midwifery and RH education and examination board of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME). She was the adjunct professor of RH at Tehran, Isfahan, and Tarbiat Moddares Universities. She was also deputy of research in the School of Nursing and Midwifery for many years.

She was invited as the professor of Reproductive health to many reproductive health-related policy-making agendas in MOHME such as: reducing maternal mortality and morbidity, improving the quality of Midwifery care, promoting Normal vaginal delivery, and reducing the rate of cesarean section, and so on.

She was the previous chief editor of the Journal of Advances in Nursing and Midwifery (from SBMU journals) as well as she was a member of the editorial board of 7 other indexed academic Journals that 3 of which are indexed in Scopus /PubMed; including;  International Journal of Community Based Nursing and Midwifery (Indexed in Pubmed), Iranian Journal of Nursing and Midwifery Research (Indexed In Pubmed), Hayat (indexed in Scopus).

She was the professor of theoretical and practical courses for Ph.D. students (such as; quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research Methods, systemic review and meta-analysis, Reproductive Health Rights, Women Empowerment, Educational management in Reproductive Health, Planning and evaluation of maternal and child services), Master Midwifery (such as; Research methods, Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Instructional design, Methods of teaching and students' assessment, Theories and Models of health behavior, Health care management) and BSc Midwifery (such as Maternal- Child Health, Health Principles and Community Health and Epidemiology). She was also a trainer in the university hospitals for Prenatal care, Sonography, and Radiology in Midwifery, Gynecology, Physiopathology and Midwifery, Maternal Child Health, Semiology, and Management of Reproductive Health Services. She was the supervisor or advisor of more than 150 Ph.D. and master theses.

She was also awarded as the best professor or researcher of the university several times.  She was also awarded as the author of the best book (the textbook of Pregnancy and Childbirth) of the year in Iran (2023).

I was also invited for many presentations at many academic conferences in different countries including the USA (Washington DC), UK, Norway, Italy, France, Thailand, Turkey, Egypt, Spain, and China.
